Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region, has experienced numerous assassination attempts. All assassination attempts on Budanov began in 2016.
Kirill Budanov said that the assassination attempts began from the moment when a lieutenant colonel of the FSB of Russia was killed in August 2016 in the occupied Crimea. The Russians attributed the murder to “Ukrainian saboteurs”.
About 10 attempts were made on Budanov
“And all attempts on my life began after that”, Budanov said. The head of the GUR neither confirmed nor denied his involvement in the operation. “Something happened,” Budanov said laconically.
The Washington Post, citing a person close to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, writes that at least 10 attempts were made on Budanov.
It is reported that in 2019 a bomb was planted under his car, but it detonated prematurely. The assassination attempts forced the head of the GUR to lead a cautious personal life.
According to the publication, Budanov is usually in his office and rarely appears in public space.
“Classical music sounds around the clock in his office, perhaps this is a protection against any attempt to listen to what is being said inside,” suggests WP.
Back to news they also tried to eat the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. The SBU managed to prevent this.
