Israeli strike on Iranian missile assembly base: satellite images of aftermath released Dmitry Usik

On the night of October 26, Israel launched strikes on Iran. This attack likely damaged the base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which creates ballistic missiles.

This was reported by the Associated Press, citing satellite images from Planet Labs PBC.

Thus, the Associated Press writes that the damage at the Shahrud base raises new questions regarding the Israeli attack. Iran has previously denied that the area was hit and has remained silent about any possible damage.

Tehran has noted that Israeli attacks have only occurred in the provinces of Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran, and not in the countryside of Semnan province, where the base is located.

It also potentially further limits the Guards' ability to produce solid-fuel ballistic missiles, which it needs to maintain as a deterrent to Israel, the reporters write.

Tehran has long relied on that arsenal because it has been unable to acquire the advanced Western weapons that Israel and Tehran's Gulf Arab neighbors have armed themselves with for years.

Even earlier it became known that Israel had carried out serious strikes on missile production. In particular, the attack targeted 12 facilities that Iran used to produce solid fuel for long-range ballistic missiles
