On Sunday, 11 of the 12 teenagers killed in the Hezbollah rocket attack, which occurred just steps from a bomb shelter, were buried.
Israeli cabinet decision
According to the Prime Minister's Office, during a four-hour meeting, lawmakers voted to give Netanyahu and Gallant the authority to decide on the scope and timing of Israel's response to the missile attack on the Golan Heights.
At the same time, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir abstained from voting.
— The missile that killed our boys and girls was Iranian, and Hezbollah is the only terrorist organization that has such missiles in its arsenal, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
The Israel Defense Forces has released evidence that the shrapnel found on the soccer field matches the Iranian-made Falaq-1 missile, which is used exclusively by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to the IDF, the Falaq-1 missile has a 50-kilogram warhead and a range of 10 km. The military released the missile's trajectory, showing it was launched from the Chebaa region of southern Lebanon.
The world's reaction
Western diplomats told the Hebrew Daily that significant efforts were being made to prevent an Israeli reaction that could lead to a full-scale war with Lebanon.
The United States said Washington was also holding talks with its Israeli and Lebanese counterparts. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States did not want the conflict to escalate further.
The White House also accused Hezbollah of striking Majdal Shams: The attack was carried out by Lebanese Hezbollah. It was their missile, launched from territory they control.
US Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, has pledged her ironclad support for Israel's security.
The UK has also expressed concern about further escalation, while Egypt has said the attack could lead to a full-scale regional war.
ICTV Fakty previously reported whether the missile strike on a football field would trigger a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah.
