The Israeli army, using its aircraft, launched a series of strikes on military targets of the radical group Hezbollah in Lebanon. The shelling was carried out both deep in the rear and in the south of the country near the border with Israel.

This attack was apparently a response to the attack on the Israeli city of Majdal Shams, which hit a football stadium where children were killed. Jerusalem blamed Hezbollah for the attack.
