Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the war with Hamas in Gaza is far from over.
He made the corresponding statement after his own rare visit to the combat zone in the Palestinian coastal enclave, which took place on December 25.
— We are not stopping, we are continuing to fight and we are deepening the fighting in the coming days and this will be a long battle and it is not close to over yet. We need patience, unity and adherence to our mission, — Netanyahu said at a meeting of the Likud faction in the Knesset.
Netanyahu said that today he visited a brigade of reservists in Gaza.

— Everyone asked me only one thing: that we don’t stop and go to the end, — he tells his Cabinet.
Recall that a new round of confrontation in the Middle East began on October 7, 2023, when militants from the terrorist group Hamas entered the territory of southern Israel and killed hundreds of civilians, and several hundred more — kidnapped.
Already on October 8, the Israeli government declared a state of war, and on October 9, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began an operation to blockade the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the American edition of the New York Times wrote that Israeli intelligence knew about Hamas's plans for an attack, but they did not believe in these militants' intentions, considering them too difficult to implement.
