It is noted that Ukraine and Israel have had close relations since the introduction of the visa-free policy in 2010, but even before the latest demand, these relations were worsened by Israeli actions such as restricting Ukrainian refugees and denying entry to many Ukrainians.

The embassy says that in response to the requirement to obtain an ETA-IL permit for stays of up to 90 days in Israel, Ukraine will introduce similar pre-approval requirements for Israeli citizens, including pilgrims.

— The features of these electronic visas are considered in Kyiv. This mutual action will affect thousands of religious pilgrims who visit Ukraine every year, — the message says.

It is also noted that Ukraine remains open to dialogue with Israel to discuss and agree on these changes in travel policy in favor of both countries.
