The IDF accepted the plan to attack Lebanon despite the lack of support from the United States. It is known that Israel wants to oust Hezbollah in northern Lebanon.

The head of the IDF Northern Command, Major General Ori Gordin, and the head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Oded Basiuk, approved plans for combat operations in Lebanon on June 18.

What is known about Israel's plan to attack Lebanon

The IDF statement says that the generals conducted an assessment during which “operational plans for the attack on Lebanon were approved.”

The high command also decided to “accelerate the readiness of forces on the ground.”

The announcement comes amid repeated Hezbollah attacks in northern Israel. In particular, Lebanon regularly shells this part of the country.

Israel previously warned that it could no longer tolerate the presence of Hezbollah along its border. Jerusalem has warned that if a diplomatic solution cannot be reached, it will push Hezbollah away militarily.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans to go to war with the Lebanese group yet in January of this year.

Israel is now conducting an offensive in the Gaza Strip

It is worth noting that the Israeli offensive on the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, which began at the end of May, is also continuing.

The International Court of Justice then ordered Israel to immediately stop the offensive because it posed an “immediate risk” to Palestinian civilians.

This invasion caused discontent throughout the world. Even the United States was against it; in particular, because of this, the United States suspended the supply of its weapons to Jerusalem.
