Israel has confirmed its agreement to a 60-day cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
During this time, a real opportunity arises to end the armed conflict in the Middle East.

Trump said that on July 1, US officials held a “lengthy and productive meeting” with an Israeli delegation on the situation in Gaza.
“Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire, during which we will work with all parties to end the war,” the president noted.
He expressed hope that Qatar and Egypt, which are making efforts for a peaceful settlement, will convey the final peace proposal to representatives of the Palestinian group.
“I hope, for the sake of the Middle East, that Hamas will accept this agreement, because it will not make things better, it will only make things worse. Thank you for your attention to this issue!” Trump concluded.
War between Israel and Hamas
Active fighting in Gaza began in October 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, causing hundreds of casualties and hostage-taking.
In January 2025, a ceasefire was reached and prisoner exchange talks began. But in March, Hamas delayed implementing the agreements, prompting Israel to resume large-scale military operations.
In May, the Israeli army launched Operation Gideon's Chariot with the aim of taking complete control of Gaza.
Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently agreed on a plan to stabilize the situation in the region, which calls for an end to hostilities within the next two weeks.
