The Russian army periodically attacks Ukraine's critical infrastructure. Our state was preparing for this, but not everything is so simple.
In this regard, experts are convinced that Ukrainians need to prepare for a difficult winter. Energy expert Gennadiy Ryabtsev spoke on channel 24 whether the Ukrainian energy system is ready for repeated attacks on emergencies.
According to him, one should also take into account the fact that most of the facilities of the Ukrainian energy system were built back in Soviet times. When they were designed, the possibility of war or shelling was also taken into account.
Thanks to this, even after shelling and destruction, if restored, they work the same way. Sometimes you even wonder how a practically destroyed facility can resume its functioning just a few hours after a missile strike. – said Ryabtsev.
That is, there is a margin of safety. However, it is clear that it is not unlimited. Therefore, Ukraine needs air defense from our allies.
“We have the strength to shoot down at least half of the cruise missiles and most of the unmanned vehicles. However, we need more air defense. I also remind you what to do it is not worth it on its own,” the expert stressed.
The heating season in Ukraine: the main thing
- Ukrainians are in for, perhaps, the most difficult winter in all the years of independence. The government assured that the heating season in Ukraine will start on time.
- However, the minimum temperature in residential premises in winter will be lowered to 16 degrees. The fact is that gas and coal should be used sparingly.
- Ukrainians were also urged to continue saving energy. This is necessary to carry out repairs and avoid planned outages. Thus, electricity consumption from 17 to 22 hours should be reduced by 25% – this applies not only to domestic use, but also to entrepreneurs.
