According to unconfirmed information, the shooter was a guy 20-25 years old. According to public reports, he allegedly waited for Irina Farion near the exit to shoot her. It is also alleged that they could have aimed at her temple.

The National Police confirmed that a woman was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Law enforcement officers are taking measures to detain the shooter.
As noted by the National Police, an unknown person fired a weapon at a 60-year-old woman.
— At about 20:00, a woman with a gunshot wound was admitted to the St. Panteleimon Hospital of the First Medical Unit of Lvov. Considering medical confidentiality and the need to preserve personal data of patients, regardless of their publicity, we cannot provide more detailed information, — reported to Facts ICTV in a medical facility.
Soon Irina Farion was operated on and transferred to intensive care. She ended up in a medical facility with a deep cerebral coma.
Farion was on a ventilator, said Natalia Matolinets, head of the anesthesiology service of the First TMO of Lvov.
Later, information about the death of Irina Farion was confirmed in the Lviv OVA.
— It’s a shame, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, it was not possible to save Irina Farion. Sincere condolences to the family, friends and students of Irina Dmitrievna. The search for the attacker is still ongoing, — the message says.
Vladimir Zelensky about the assassination attempt on Irina Farion
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky reacted to this event. According to him, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk promptly report on the search for the attacker of Irina Farion.
— All necessary forces of the National Police of Ukraine and the SBU are involved to establish the circumstances of this crime. It is obvious that any violence deserves only condemnation. Everyone responsible for this attack must be held fully accountable — stated the head of state.
At first, the attack on Irina Farion was qualified as attempted premeditated murder (part 2 of article 15, part 1 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). But due to the death of the victim, the crime was reclassified under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional murder).
The police and other necessary services are working at the scene of the shooting, have statements from witnesses, and are processing data from surveillance cameras. The detection of a crime in the active phase, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

On November 15, it became known that the scandalous former people's deputy Irina Farion was fired from the Lviv Polytechnic after the opening of criminal proceedings by the SBU.
