Iran could resume nuclear program in months - Grossi

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi suggests that US strikes on Iran have not completely destroyed Tehran's nuclear program, meaning Iran could restore its capacity within a few months.

Sky News reports this.

Iran May Start Producing Nuclear Weapons Again

Grossi said the US strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on June 23 caused serious but not complete damage.

“To be honest, you can’t say that everything has disappeared and there is nothing there,” Grossi said, commenting on the aftermath of the strikes.

According to him, the Iranians retain the potential to resume their nuclear program in a relatively short time.

“They could start doing it again in a matter of months,” the head of the UN nuclear watchdog stressed.

Recall that Israel attacked nuclear and military sites in Iran on June 13, claiming that Iran was close to creating nuclear weapons.

The US later joined the strikes, dropping bombs on three key Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

Iran then closed the IAEA's access to its nuclear facilities.
