There is information that Russia may have ordered Arash-2 drones from Iran. They are faster than Shahed-136. However, there are doubts that Iran will hand over these drones to the occupiers.
This Channel 24 was told by Conflict Intelligence Team analyst Kirill Mikhailov. According to him, Arash-2 is actually a slow cruise missile. She can stay in the air for a certain time, and only then strike.
The drone itself is reactive, so it should be faster than the Shade-136. In addition, it will be more difficult to shoot down. If “shaheeds” can be destroyed with small arms, Arash-2 cannot be destroyed in this way.
There are questions for Russian intelligence
As noted Mikhailov, judging by the course of the war, Russian intelligence is not good at detecting targets right on the battlefield. Therefore, most likely, the occupiers will use Arash-2 in the same way as Shahed-136 – to hit the rear.
As we can see, Russia uses martyrs primarily as a kind of replacement for cruise missiles. They strike at stationary targets in the Ukrainian operational and strategic rear. This means that they are not able to detect targets on the battlefield or close to the battlefield, as Ukrainian intelligence does, marking targets for HIMARS, Mikhailov noted.
He added that the Arash-2 system is really the latest – it was only recently put into service with Iran. Therefore, there are doubts that they will hand over these drones to Russia. After all, they themselves need them in the fight against Israel.
There are versions that Tehran will transfer Arash-1 drones to Russia. This is something like the Soviet Tu-141 drones, which have already been used in the war of Russia against Ukraine.
Iran continues to help Russia
- Iran is secretly helping Russia with weapons in the war against Ukraine. The defenders have already shot down Iranian Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 drones.
- Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War, citing several Ukrainian and Russian telegram channels, said that Russia could conclude a contract with Iran for the supply of Arash-2 drones . So far, there is no other confirmation of this information. Therefore, it should be taken critically.
- Despite this, The Washington Post, citing US defense officials, reported that Russia may receive Iran also has ground-to-ground ballistic missiles. It is known that there are Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar in service in Iran, which can hit the target from a distance of 300 and 700 kilometers.
