Iran Attacks Microsoft Offices Area in Israel: Injured, Homes Destroyed

On Friday morning, June 20, Iran launched a missile attack on the Israeli city of Be'er Sheva. The strike hit the area where Microsoft's offices are located, as well as residential buildings. This happened the day after the Soroka hospital in the same city was shelled.

According to the Magen David Adom emergency services, there were no casualties as a result of the strike. However, seven people were slightly injured, mostly while trying to reach shelters or due to the blast wave. All the victims were evacuated to hospital, CTech reports.

“We were sleeping in a safe room. We locked the door, as always, and then there was a huge explosion. The air was filled with the smell of burning and dust. The house was completely destroyed. I went outside and was stunned. It's good that I had things in the closet in the shelter,” local resident Ovi Nahon said about the moment of the explosion.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement that Microsoft “works closely with Israeli military structures” and that the company's offices are part of a cyber infrastructure that “supports aggression.”

The corps also claims that the area is home to intelligence and artificial intelligence workers who allegedly interact with Israeli security forces.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Iranian leader Ali Khamenei is a modern-day dictator, Adolf Hitler, and therefore cannot continue to exist.
