MLRS “Grad”
< strong _ngcontent-sc90="">The Russian occupiers decided to significantly increase the amount of military equipment on Zmeiny Island. This poses a significant threat to Ukraine.
As early as June 3, the Russian invaders had 22 pieces of equipment and weapons on Zmein. On June 6, this number increased to 29 units.
Now the infidels on the island have three Grad multiple launch rocket systems, two Tor anti-aircraft missile systems with a transport-loading vehicle, four air defense systems “Pantsir-S1” also with a transport-loading vehicle. Another 10 pieces of equipment are covered with a camouflage net.
The Russians need this equipment for further blockade of Ukrainian ports. And, if necessary, the shelling of ships transporting Ukrainian grain. As an example, the fact is given that on May 21, 2022, when the Russian military threatened to open fire on the civilian ship Britta K, sailing under the flag of Togo from Romania in transit through Zmeiny. This indicates that the infidels on the island are morally ready to shoot at civilian ships, especially at ships with Ukrainian grain, which can now be loaded in Romanian ports.
The Russians are afraid of missile strikes
In addition, air defense systems should protect Russian ships from air attacks, as well as missile attacks from land. First of all, we are talking about “Bayraktors”. Prior to this, this mission was entrusted to the Moskva cruiser, on which the corresponding air defense systems were placed. But he did not cope with the task, becoming the victim of a land-based missile strike.
Regarding land-based missile strikes, Ukraine can use Neptune anti-ship cruise missiles. It was from these missiles that the Moskva cruiser was hit, because of which the enemy ship sank.
Ukraine also received Harpoon anti-ship missiles from Denmark. They delivered at the end of May. Ukraine also receives such missiles from Great Britain and the Netherlands.
True, the Ukrainian military received a complex that allows missiles to be launched only from the shore. However, it will also make it possible to secure the Ukrainian coast from enemy ships. Therefore, they are forced to keep a considerable distance from the coast.
