In the fifth month, a full-scale war and the budgets of Ukrainian cities are limited. However, we should hurry to help restore people's homes before winter.

Andrey Sadovy, the mayor of Lviv, said this for Channel 24. He noted that Lvov had already begun to help Gostomel.
“Cities, first of all, meet their needs. I had a conversation with the mayors of Irpin, Bucha. There is a head of the military administration in Gostomel, because the mayor of Gostomel killed at the beginning of a full-scale war. Now many international delegations are coming and promising help. I ask: “Where are those millions?”. They say that the money is on the way, “said the mayor.
We mustn't delay
According to Sadovyi, the problem is that international donors have fear and uncertainty. International organizations and foundations promise to help, but only when the war is over.
I felt it during the forum in Lugano (Switzerland – Channel 24). A lot of donors there said that, of course, they want to help, but later. I say: “Friends, during the war we started building houses for pregnant women and built them. Women already live there, because they don’t have time to wait for the war to end. They need to give birth already,” the mayor said.

From local budgets
Sadovyi said that Lviv is taking on unconventional forms, how to help other cities. For example, German water utilities donate equipment to the city, and he immediately sends it to others. Therefore, the Irpin water utility received help.
“If we talk about the restoration of Gostomel, we are doing it on our own, involving our employees. The only thing that needs to be paid is construction materials. We will contact the builders “Something, perhaps, will come from local budgets. You know, winter is on the nose and people can be left without a roof over their heads, you just have to take it and do it. When the war ends, we will win and we will figure it out,” the mayor added.
What Lviv is already doing
Employees of the Lviv Vodokanal are already working in Gostomel, Kyiv region. They will create communications and amenities for the modular town within two weeks. In addition, a military medical center will be set up.
