According to NABU, three people are suspected of laundering funds from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense during the purchase of body armor in the amount of 5.7 million euros. They were detained thanks to the joint work of NABU, SAPO and the National Bureau of Investigation of the Criminal Police of the Republic of Finland.

Among the detainees is a representative of a private company that under-delivered to the Ministry of Defense 50% of purchased and fully paid for body armor. The detainees spent part of these funds on the purchase of luxury cars and real estate, NABU said.

NABU detectives began their own criminal proceedings into the misappropriation of funds from the Ministry of Defense during the purchase of body armor. They use the collected evidence in this case. Measures are being taken to compensate for losses.
