Russia is shelling Ukrainian cities while cynically convening the UN Security Council because of the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is “playing with international structures”.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the corresponding statement during an appeal to Ukrainians, Channel 24 reports. The head of state said that the total number of various cruise missiles that Russia used against Ukraine is already approaching 3.5 thousand.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that Russian artillery strikes cannot be counted, since there are so many of them and they intense.
Against the backdrop of the shelling, as the president stressed, Russia is cynically gathering the UN Security Council because of the situation at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which it is the Russian military who are shelling and threatening to blow up.
At the same time, the terrorist state does not stop playing with international structures and once again has the audacity to convene the UN Security Council to discuss its own provocations, its own terror at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Zelensky said.
What is the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP
- On March 4, the Russian military seized Energodar and occupied the Zaporozhye NPP. In August, the occupiers constantly shelled the nuclear power plant and mined the ZNPP.
- In the beginning of the month, “arrivals” were recorded near the industrial site of the ZNPP. Invader shells also fell near one of the power units where the nuclear reactor is located.
- During another shelling, the Russian military almost hit the containers of spent nuclear fuel and the power unit at the ZNPP.
- As a result shelling at the Zaporozhye NPP, the overpass was damaged, and there is also a risk of violation of radiation safety standards.
- Ukraine turned to the IAEA and the UN with a request to send a mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
