In Warsaw, Ukrainians united in a living “chain of unity”. The action took place on January 22, on the Day of Unity of Ukraine, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko.

More than 100 Ukrainians with blue and yellow flags and national symbols took part in the action. Participants of the “chain of unity” sang the anthem of Ukraine and the folk song “Oh, in the meadow, there is a red kalyna”, holding hands. Representatives of the Ukrainian embassy in Poland, the Ukrainian community and students of Ukrainian schools also joined the action.

Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Bodnar thanked Poland for its support of Ukraine and noted that now we are talking about the security and protection of all of Europe. The diplomat also called on Ukrainians to join the flash mob on Facebook: write your region and add that it is Ukraine.

Remember this Day of Unity. We always say that Ukraine and the West are together. And now – Ukraine and foreign countries are together. Warsaw together with Kiev, – said the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasyl Bodnar.

Note that Ukraine celebrates Unity Day annually on January 22. 106 years ago, on January 22, 1919, the Act of Reunification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic into a single independent state was proclaimed in Kiev.
