If the sanctions imposed against Russia seem too slow to activists, then they take control of the situation. So, in Venice, the palace of the Russian oligarch Leonid Mikhelson was seized.
The construction was taken under control by activists of the left forces. And Leonid Mikhelson himself is a Russian billionaire, as well as the head of the board of the Novatek gas company.
In Italy, Mikhelson's property is still inviolable
Russian artist and writer Ekaterina announced the seizure of Mikhelson's estate Margolis. She currently resides in Europe.
Why did the activists take control of the building? It was a decisive step with which they responded to Italy's inaction. After all, both Great Britain and Canada imposed personal sanctions on Leonid Mikhelson. In this country, both his affairs and his property remained inviolable. And this despite the fact that he is one of the ten richest people in the aggressor country.
It is interesting that the Michelson Foundation for Contemporary Art, called VAC, functioned in the palace. But the other day they decided to change the sign to a more neutral one, removing the letter “V” from it,associated with the invaders. Now you can see the inscription “Palazzo delle Zattere” (Palazzo delle Zattere – Channel 24) there.
Interestingly, for several weeks, activists distributed postcards in Venice. In them, they noted the closeness of Leonid Mikhelson with Vladimir Putin. They also reminded about the claims that environmentalists make to the Novatek business.
Earlier, a luxury yacht of Putin's ally was arrested in Germany
A few days ago we said that the yacht Luna was detained in the port of Hamburg. It is known that the ship worth 400 million euros belongs to the Russian billionaire Farkhad Akhmedov. It is interesting that earlier it was owned by another Russian oligarch, Roman Abramovich.
Note that according to the documents, the ship is owned not by Akhmedov, but by the Liechtenstein Trust. Therefore, the Federal Office of the German Criminal Police had to first identify evidence. And only after that to link the Russian billionaire with the ship for 400 million euros.
Only after a thorough analysis, as well as consideration of the case, law enforcement officers discovered the connection between Akhmedov and Luna. Consequently, the luxury yacht came under sanctions. Now it will not be able to leave the port of Hamburg.
As for Akhmedov himself, he is from Azerbaijan. In early April, the billionaire was on the EU sanctions list. For more than 20 years, the oligarch has been in the TOP 200 richest people in Russia according to Forbes of the aggressor country. It is also known that he was previously a member of the Federation Council of Europe.
