However, it will be possible to establish what exactly happened to many of them, it will be possible only after the end of the war, or at least its active phase.

< p > This was announced by Arthur Vokserdov, authorized for missing issues, during a briefing at the Ukrainian media center.

< h2 > fate of the missing will be known after the end of the war

< blockquote >< p > — If today the number of missing people is more than 70 thousand, then the majority of the facts that occurred with our missing, we will be able to find out after the end of the war or at least the active phase of hostilities, ”he said.

are now watching < p > — And when it will be possible to practically implement the work of search groups in the zones where hostilities were carried out, in gray areas and in the occupied territories, ”Dobroserdov emphasized.

< p > he noted that the unified register of missing helps in search work. This base accumulates information from all possible sources and promotes the interaction with the families of missing persons.

< p > for relatives there is a hot line by number 1698. In addition, on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs you can fill out the corresponding questionnaire – this can be done by both relatives of the missing person and any other person. < p > 62 > 62 > < h2 > conducting DNA-expertise

< p >— In most cases, the bodies incoming during repatriation are in a difficult state, that is, it is impossible to conduct visual identification in most cases. There are cases when you can work with fingerprints or carry out certain manipulations to restore these prints. However, the greatest results in identification are achieved precisely during molecular genetic examinations, that is, DNA expertise, ”said Vokserdov. such genetic studies are carried out as part of an electronic register of human genomic information. Now in the system of the Ministry of the Interior there are 27 laboratories performing DNA experts. Separately, 4 laboratories work in the system of the Ministry of Health and 4 more – in the system of the Ministry of Justice.

< p > Ukraine also collaborates with the International Commission for the missing issues, and law enforcement officers have the opportunity to send DNA samples to a foreign laboratory. according to Dobroserdov, no discrepancies between the conclusions of Ukrainian and international experts were recorded.

< p > the authorized person also recalled: when a close person disappears, you need to contact the National Police, the Coordinating Headquarters, the National Information Bureau, as well as the representative office of the International Red Cross Committee in Ukraine.

< p > in cases when a military man disappears missing, but he does not have relatives, a message about the disappearance most often comes to the authorized person directly from his unit. as for the disappearance of civilians, the state representative monitors media reports, including those that work in temporarily occupied territories, and also maintain contact with public organizations that also transmit information about the missing.
