A portal has been launched in Ukraine, where reports are collected about the assets of persons involved in Russian aggression. Now everyone can join the arrest and confiscation of the property of the aggressor.
Ukrainian Task Force for the search, seizure and confiscation of assets involved in Russian war crimes launched the Whistleblower Reporting Portal on the assets of persons involved in aggression Russia against Ukraine.
What is known about the Task Force
Task Force cooperates with other countries, in particular with the United States and the European Union, to share data on the assets of persons involved in war crimes, as well as to implement sanctions and counter individuals and legal entities that violate these sanctions.
In order to compensate the victims and restore our country, we are looking for the property of war criminals in order to be able to arrest it in criminal proceedings and then confiscate it,” said Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
Task Force members include:
- Office of the Attorney General,
- National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC),
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
- Security Service of Ukraine,
- National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine,
- The National Police and the State Financial Monitoring Service.
What to report
If you have information about the property of those involved in Russian aggression abroad, report it on the Portal. Reporting is advised on:
- apartments in the UK,
- estates in the US, Canada and other countries,
- gold bars in Switzerland,
- yachts moored in EU countries.
Pay attention! Reporting should be about assets, information about which has not yet appeared in the media and is not known to the general public.
If you wish, reports on the Portal can be submitted anonymously.
“It is important that by reporting your status even anonymously, you can get a chance for a significant financial reward – 10% of the value of assets. But most importantly, your message is a contribution to ending the war in Ukraine!,” added Alexander Novikov, Head of the NAPC.
Mechanism for processing incoming messages
After processing the data on the found assets, the NACP will transfer them to the Office of the Prosecutor General for subsequent arrest after the announcement of suspicions to the persons who are their owners or beneficiaries, as well as to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to freeze assets, compensate them at the expense of damage caused by the commission of crimes against humanity, the murder of thousands of civilians.
