In Turkey on Sunday, May 26, a passenger bus was involved in an accident. Due to rainy weather, he crashed into three other cars moving on the highway.

The bus was traveling on the route Diyarbakir – Istanbul. It collided on a highway near the city of Yenice in Mersin province with 2 cars and 1 truck.

The accident killed 10 people

According to various sources, from 39 to 40 people were injured in the accident, 9 of them were in serious condition. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya also clarified that 10 Turkish citizens died in the accident.

As Turkish media note, the driver of the passenger bus lost control. The bus overturned and destroyed the steel barriers, and then drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into cars.

“We were driving from Mersin to Adana, the weather was rainy. When the bus crashed, it turned over on the right side and fell on two vehicles, unfortunately, there were also small children,” said 41-year-old witness of the accident Murat Shahin.
