According to the Transcarpathian region police, the driver was detained and the military man was hospitalized.
It is known that the injured soldier was serving at a checkpoint in the village of Yanoshi, Beregovo district, Transcarpathian region.

According to the investigation, a 34-year-old resident of the city of Rakhiv in an Audi car wanted to overtake a car that had stopped for a special check. The driver drove into the oncoming lane and ran into a 21-year-old State Border Service employee. The military man, in turn, was on the roadway.
The injured soldier was hospitalized with numerous injuries of varying severity.
It is known that the driver who was subsequently detained was driving sober. He has now been placed in a temporary detention center.
Investigators entered information into the ERDR under Part 2 of Art. 286 (violation of road safety rules causing grievous bodily harm to the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive for up to 3 years. The investigation is ongoing.
