Zaluzhny on the situation in the South/Mind.ua
Valery Zaluzhny reported that as of April 18, the situation in the southern direction is under control. In particular, the threat from the sea has been significantly reduced. This happened due to the sinking of the flagship.
At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that the danger of landing sea and air assault forces remains. Therefore, measures are being taken to strengthen the antiamphibious defense. In particular, due to the material and technical assistance provided by the partner countries.
The Defense Forces are steadily protecting Mykolaiv from possible enemy attempts to resume the offensive and are destroying the enemy in the suburbs of Kherson. We do not give the enemy the opportunity to advance in the direction of Zaporizhia, – said Zaluzhny.
He also noted that the heroic defense of the hero city of Mariupol is underway. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all possible measures to support the defenders of the city.
