On Thursday, December 19, a shooting took place near the building of the parliament of self-proclaimed Abkhazia, as a result of which a deputy was killed.

This was reported by 24 Kanal with reference to local Telegram channels. It is noted that an investigative task force has already arrived at the parliament and is establishing the details of the incident.

What is known about the shooting in Abkhazia

Local journalists report that as a result of the shooting in Abkhazia, MP Vakhtang Golandzia was killed and oppositionist Kan Kvarchia was injured. According to media reports, the shooting was caused by the bill banning mining.

During this discussion, MPs Adgur Kharazia and Kan Kvarchia started arguing. Kharazia subsequently pulled out a gun and started shooting. However, another deputy, Vakhtang Gollandzia, who tried to separate his colleagues, was hit. He died from his injuries.

According to the so-called “Ministry of Internal Affairs” of Abkhazia, the suspect Adgur Kharazia fled the scene.

By the way, it was previously reported that the so-called “president” of occupied Abkhazia resigned. Aslan Bzhania himself proposed this option after the opposition seized the presidential administration and he was forced to leave for Sukhumi to his native village of Tamysh.
