Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren supports the idea of former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen regarding Ukraine's partial accession to the bloc without temporarily occupied territories.

She stated this at a briefing in Brussels, where she arrived for a meeting of EU defense ministers.

“I really welcome such a creative idea.” We’ll see,” she said, answering the question.

At the same time, she noted that it is now extremely important to continue supplying ammunition to Ukraine, fulfilling its obligations.

“This ammunition is urgently needed.” Therefore, we must do everything possible to ensure that they receive as much as possible and as quickly as possible,” Ollongren concluded.

On November 11, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen put forward a proposal for Ukraine to join the military bloc without territories occupied by Russia.

According to him, the partial membership plan for Ukraine will not symbolize a freeze in the conflict, but, on the contrary, will mean a determination to warn the Russian Federation that it cannot prevent Ukraine from joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
