In the Lviv region, a drunk driver provoked a triple accident. Four people were injured, including two children.
According to law enforcement officers, a traffic accident occurred on November 12, at about 19.30, on the Ternopil-Lviv highway in the village of Chizhikov, Lviv district.
Investigators have previously established that the driver of a Mercedes E220, a 38-year-old resident of Lviv, lost control, drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Great Wall Hover, driven by a 58-year-old resident of the Volyn region, and a Skoda Oktavia, driven by 37 -year-old resident of Zolochev.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the Skoda Oktavia and his passengers: a five-year-old boy, a ten-year-old girl and a 31-year-old woman – all residents of Zolochev – were injured and were hospitalized.
– It was established that the driver of the Mercedes E220 was driving the vehicle while intoxicated. He was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him, law enforcement officers said.
Punishment for the driver
Based on the fact of the accident, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286-1 (Violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code.
The driver who caused the accident faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation continues, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
