A rescued raccoon near Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, was brought to Lviv.

The animal was rescued by Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers during one of the successful offensive operations. The raccoon was named after the city and its protector.

“Our military took the raccoon and brought it to their base where they were located. The animal lived with them for several months, hanging out with cats and dogs. “I ate and slept with them,” Orest Zalipsky, the head of the animal shelter, told Suspilny.

When the military received an order to relocate, they decided to transfer the raccoon to an animal shelter. We found volunteers who agreed to bring Kostya to Lviv. According to Orest Zalipsky, the raccoon is tame and sociable. He is not aggressive, although he is scared.

“In the morning, he already left his shelter and examined the enclosure where we placed him during quarantine. And he even ate,” added the head of the House of Rescued Animals.

Raccoon – up to 1.5 years old. Now he is in quarantine, the animal must be examined by a veterinarian.
