Ukraine needs about €7-10 billion per year to meet the basic needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for large-caliber shells.
This was stated by the Czech government commissioner for the reconstruction of Ukraine Tomas Kopechny, reports the European Pravda publication.

According to the commissioner who was involved in the purchase of ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukraine’s need for large-caliber shells this and the next two years will be about 200 thousand artillery shells per month.

We are talking not only about 120-155 mm shells, but also 81 mm mortar caliber. Tomasz Kopecny believes that in this way the Ukrainian Defense Forces will be able to maintain balance, but not surpass the Russian occupiers.
In his opinion, to fully meet the basic needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, that is, the supply of 200 thousand shells per month, about €7-10 billion per year is needed.
The Commissioner noted that the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition outside the European Union could provide both 1.5 million and 2 million shells.
However, the Czech Republic now has reliable financial obligations, within which it is possible to purchase only 500 thousand large-caliber ammunition, explained Tomas Kopecny.
