A traffic jam has formed near the mouth of the Danube with ships that will transport Ukrainian grain/Collage 24 channel

Near the Danube Delta in the Black Sea, a traffic jam formed from ships. They are waiting to be loaded with Ukrainian grain in order to take it to foreign markets.

This is evidenced by the Marinetraffic navigation monitoring system, the information was confirmed by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. In the meantime, the Ukrainian Regional Defense Forces, together with a number of national services, control the safety of the passage of civilian ships through the mouth of the Bystry.

Ships in traffic jam waiting to be loaded with Ukrainian grain

It is noted that in a traffic jam on the roadstead of the Sulina Canal, only 135 units are needed to transport Ukrainian grainsea vessels. The opening of the mouth of Bystry two days ago helped a little to unload the route, the passage through which became safer due to the liberation from Russian infidels Snake Island – now it is possible to approach the Ukrainian Danube ports of Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaysk “.

The Defense Forces, through the integrated interaction of the Maritime Guard, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, coastal units and air defense forces, monitor and control the situation of the passage of civilian ships by the mouth of the Bystry to the ports on the Danube and to the exit – to the territorial sea of Romania, by the recommended routes. So far, the movement of ships is only possible in this way, since the passage through the thermore of Ukraine remains blocked and mined by the Russians,” the Yug operational command said.

The Yug OK also noted that the owners of these vessels take on certain risks of a possible defeat by the Russians. At the same time, the system for monitoring the surface situation has been established, and this makes it possible to respond to any manifestations of aggression against civilian ships from Russia.

The queue is gradually moving

The Ministry of Infrastructure added, that as of 20:00 on July 12, 16 merchant ships, which will transport Ukrainian agricultural products, have already passed through the canal of the Bystry Estuary and are waiting to be loaded with grain. More than 90 ships are waiting for the raid of the Sulina Canal to enter Ukrainian ports.

By the way, shipping through the mouth of Bystry still cannot provide Ukraine with even about the volume of agricultural exports that was carried out through seaports before the full-scale invasion of Russia. The fact is that the depth of the mouth does not allow the passage of large dry cargo ships with grain.

Unfortunately, at present, the throughput of the mouth of Bystry is only 4 vessels per day, if necessary at least 8 . Therefore, the Ukrainian side is negotiating with the European Commission and Romanian colleagues to increase the number of passages through the Sulina Canal.

Under these conditions and the presence of a route through the Bystry Estuary, we expect that within a week the accumulation of ships in the roadstead will disappear, and we will be able to increase the monthly export of grain by 500 thousand tons . – Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yuriy Vaskov said on the air of the national telethon.

By the way, as of today, due to the blockade of the seaports of Ukraine by Russia, the export of food takes place exclusively through the ports of the Danube , railway and road checkpoints on the western borders of our state.

Their throughput is not yet enough to fully replace seaports, which until February 24 took on approximately 80% of all exports of agricultural products. For example, in June, existing logistics routes managed to export about 2.5 million tons of products, when the monthly demand is 8 million tons .
