Russian human rights activist Mark Feigin told Channel 24 about this. He spoke about why Russia began to worry so much about US assistance to Ukraine.
The first reason for hysteria
In Russia, there are 2 reasons to hysteria because of Lend-Lease, the human rights activist said.
According to Feigin, the first is that American weapons will radically change the operational picture on all fronts. At the same time, not once there, but soon.
“If on May 9 Joe Biden signed the law on lend-lease, then the very next day the US Congress approved 40 billion military aid. And not some tanks with stools, but real powerful weapons,” Feigin said.
The Russians want to be in time for deliveries
According to Feygin, the Russians have begun to withdraw their forces from the Kharkiv region, as they decided to concentrate on the main areas – the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. So they want to try to reach the administrative borders of these regions until they supply American weapons to Ukraine.
“What is the point of trying to storm Kharkov if it is completely useless. The Russians have neither the strength nor the opportunity to do this,” he added.
The second reason for hysteria
Feygin explained another reason for the mass hysteria of the Kremlin on Lend-Lease for Ukraine. He noted that phrases have already begun to sound in Russia that supposedly Ukraine will pay for this assistance to the United States from generation to generation, and Washington will do with our wishing state.
However, the human rights activist stressed that the Kremlin is well aware that it is their state that will pay for the weapons that the United States is currently providing to Ukraine.
They are well aware that their money (state, corporate ), frozen as a result of sanctions, will be used to pay for Lend-Lease. This is at least $350 billion that the central bank left in US securities. That is, not Kyiv, but Moscow will pay,” Feigin emphasized.
The human rights activist added that it is precisely this Russian elite that is leaked the most. They are very gnawed by the opinion that they will pay for this assistance from their pockets – vineyards, yachts and other things. That is, they were also thrown away for money.
“That is why the Kremlin reacts so painfully to this. They do not want to lose. Also at their own expense,” Feigin summed up.

Lend-Lease for Ukraine: Briefly
- On May 9, US President Joe Biden signed the law on lend-lease for Ukraine. Its signing means that now the United States will send us more aid (including military) in the shortest possible time.
- Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmigal explained what the adoption of such a law means for us. He stressed that now the supply of weapons from the United States to our country will not have any restrictions.
