In the Volgograd region of Russia, a freight train carrying fuel in tanks derailed and caught fire. The probable cause of the freight train derailment was a drone attack.

According to preliminary information from Russian media, the train derailed “due to the intervention of outsiders persons”, informs Channel 24.

What is known

Russian media noted that the accident occurred around one in the morning near the Kotluban station. There were no casualties, and emergency services are working on the spot.

According to the data they publish, as a result of the drone attack, two cars with fuel caught fire. According to preliminary data, one tank exploded. After this, the fuel spilled and the grass caught fire.

They said that in total 9 train cars derailed. The fire has now been localized, but it has not yet been completely extinguished.

Russians complained of drone attacks in several areas on the night of May 13: what is known

• On the night of May 13, Russian residents once again announced a drone attack. Thus, drones were recorded in 3 regions: Lipetsk, Belgorod and Kursk.

In several more houses, windows were broken, the roofs of houses and facades were damaged, as well as 3 cars. A fire also broke out in the Belgorod region. As local authorities reported, “dry grass was burning.”
