The State Border Guard Service commented on the detention of the attackers of the Ukrainian border guard/Collage 24 Channel

In Transcarpathia on Friday, May 24, two men who were planning to illegally flee the country and were moving in the direction of Romania, they attacked a Ukrainian border guard. Subsequently, the Romanian border service managed to detain them. The State Border Guard Service commented on this incident.

Representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko noted during the telethon that attempts to violate the Ukrainian state border do not stop, and violators are quite daring and resort to attacking border guards, reports 24 Channel .

Romanian border guards detained the fugitives

The incident occurred at the Mukachevo section border detachment. Two intruders shot at a serviceman and fled towards Romania.

The State Border Service immediately informed both Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and their colleagues in Romania about the attack. Soon they reported that two violators had been detained in this direction.

“All those circumstances indicate that these were exactly the people who attacked our serviceman,” says Demchenko .

Further actions regarding these individuals, as well as other circumstances that existed at the time of the attack, are now being decided. According to a representative of the State Border Guard Service, the matter is that one of the men took possession of a device for shooting rubber bullets. During the search, Romanian border guards found this device on the attacker.

• On the evening of May 24, a signal mine went off at the Delovoe border service station. The border guard responded to the signal and found two men near the border.
• The border guard fired warning shots, and after that the intruders attacked him, took away their weapons and fled to Romania. While fleeing, they fired 5 shots towards the servicemen.
• The journalists also managed to find out that the suspects in the attack were 36-year-old Andrei Boyarko and 31-year-old Roman Nezhizhim from Zaporozhye. Now law enforcement officers are preparing materials for the extradition of the Cossacks from Romania.
