Poland lacks a male workforce/AdobeStock
< strong _ngcontent-sc132="">Since the beginning of Russia's war against Ukraine, millions of refugees have arrived in neighboring Poland, mostly women and children. The government of the country actively supports people who were forced to leave Ukraine in search of a peaceful life.
In recent years, the Polish authorities have supported the policy of uniting the two societies, and now the country is creating safe conditions for Ukrainian refugees, offering them housing, food, social and medical assistance. Children and students can continue their studies in Poland, while adults are given the opportunity to legally work.
Help not only in times of war
Neighboring Poland supports Ukraine and our citizens not only now during the war. Friendly interaction occurs constantly – through the creation of the Youth Exchange Council, the financing of scholarship programs, the introduction of a visa-free regime and the opening of the labor market for Ukrainians. It is these processes that have been going on for years that have become the reason for the establishment of direct contacts between Poles and Ukrainians on an unprecedented scale.
For many years, Poland has been and remains one of the most popular countries among Ukrainians who are looking for work abroad. And now, despite the war in Ukraine, our citizens are successfully finding jobs. As of the end of May, more than 1 million Ukrainians have already received a Polish pesel number, and according to this figure, 180,000 Ukrainians have been officially employed.
Of course, the labor market has changed, because Poland is now experiencing a shortage of male labor. At the same time, Polish enterprises are trying to adjust so that women can also work.
By the way, some enterprises in Poland are beginning to offer “male” jobs to Ukrainian women, and there are quite a few vacancies in the logistics industry, in particular, pickers of goods in warehouses. Ukrainian women are also offered work in production, harvesting or picking berries.
In some industries, men cannot be replaced
However, today the situation on the labor market with work for men still remains difficult. If you look at vacancies on various job search portals, we see that about 70-80% of the offers are created specifically for men, and mainly companies are looking for specialists. For example, employers complain about the marriage of, for example, bus drivers, CNC machine operators and forklift operators.
Therefore, employers are now forced to compete more actively and offer more attractive wages. After all, it is easy for men working in Poland to change jobs and choose the company with the most favorable offers and working conditions.
At the same time, Ukrainians prefer already proven companies with extensive experience in the field of employment. According to the Polish employment company Tvojarabota.pl, the leaders in the ranking of the most needed and paid vacancies are:
- CNC machine operators, with a salary of 47,000 hryvnias (PLN 7,000);
- li>
- bus drivers on urban, intercity and tourist routes with an average salary of 41,000 hryvnia (PLN 6,000); thousand zł).
By the way, the latter can take a training course and receive a certificate for driving a forklift – UDT, and such courses are often organized by employers themselves. They also advise candidates not to focus only on their profession, but to look wider, because there are many related specialties where you can find yourself, or learn a new profession in a more or less short period of time.
According to the Polish agency for employment Tvojarabota.pl, many companies consider candidates even with minimal work experience or without it, because they are ready to teach everything necessary to a “zero” employee. This allows in the future to master the following professions:
- powder and wet paint painter;
- fitter;
- electroplating line operator;
- electrician;
- forwarding driver;
- CNC machine operator;
- worker for the production of car windows and others.
< p>Sufficiently stable demand is observed on the Polish labor market for such specialists, so it will be easy to find a highly paid job for such a specialist.
