The position of the military on serving subpoenas on the beaches of Odessa was explained/Collage of Channel 24

In Odessa, they began to hand out subpoenas to those liable for military service on the beach. This is not a mass recruitment of people into the army, but only the clarification of the credentials of the population liable for military service.

Such events are mandatory during martial law. This was discussed in detail on June 15 at the operational command “South”.

Who delivers subpoenas during martial law

Measures to clarify military data are carried out regularly. This must be done within the framework of the announced mobilization. Such notification events are now being carried out by employees of regional territorial centers for recruitment and social support in different districts of the Odessa region. The command stressed that this is not done by military registration and enlistment offices. But Centers have different ways of working.

Where and when you receive the summons is not of fundamental importance. Employees of the district territorial recruitment and social support centers are authorized to hand it over or by visiting your place of residence, meeting you along your route, or in other public places, the message said.

After receiving such a document, citizens are required to appear to the collection points within the specified time. We are talking not only about subpoenas, but also about mobilization certificates, subpoenas or orders from district recruitment and social support centers.

Why subpoenas are served on the beaches

As noted in the command, subpoenas can be served anywhere. However, regarding the beaches, this is just a reaction for ignoring the calls of local authorities. Despite already several tragic cases, requests not to visit the coast do not give any result. People go to the sea even when there is always a threat of running into a mine.

The lack of a mechanism to hold accountable for violating the legal regime of martial law translates work and concern for people into purely moral plane. By issuing a summons to lovers of beach holidays and swimming, the military reminded that there is a war going on in the country, – said the South OK. not a direct ticket to the front line for everyone indiscriminately, but only one of the methods of establishing communication, increasing the responsibility and consciousness of citizens.
