Details of the investigation
Law enforcement officers found weapons and forbidden symbolism. Now they are looking for people who work for the Russian special services.
It is known that the attackers settled in the area even earlier. In order to prevent provocations, the police and employees of the State Bureau of Investigation are conducting a large-scale investigation. As a result, they have already seized:
- a significant amount of various weapons;
- communist paraphernalia;
- advertising brochures with communist and other forbidden symbols;
- manuals with instructions on the rules of conduct, measures of conspiracy and surveillance for sabotage;
- grenades;
- cartridges;
- mobile phones;
- electronic media.

What happened in Odessa on May 2, 8 years ago
In 2014 large-scale clashes took place in the center of Odessa. Then, before the football match, fans of the football clubs “Chernomorets” and “Metalist”, as well as ordinary citizens, decided to walk through the streets in a peaceful procession “For a United Ukraine”. At the same time, pro-Russian Anti-Maidan activists prepared their own procession.
The columns crossed in the area of Greek Square. Then the riots began – the participants threw stones, Molotov cocktails and pyrotechnics at each other. Subsequently, it turned out that the collaborators had firearms, because shots rang out.
Most of the victims were on the Kulikovo field, because the House of Trade Unions, in which people were hiding, was set on fire. A total of 48 people died, and more than 200 were injured.
After the tragic events, the Odessa City Council declared three days of mourning in the city.
