The former so-called mayor of the temporarily occupied Luhansk, Manolis Pilavov, died as a result of an explosion in the city center.

According to them, Manolis Pilavov, who headed the occupation administration of Luhansk in 2014-2023, died from a homemade explosive device planted behind the door of a house on Taras Shevchenko Street.

This is near the local history museum, where the opening of an exhibition dedicated to Operation Potok took place today.

The explosion occurred at the moment the door was opened. Pilavov was killed and three more people were injured. The Russian Investigative Committee has already opened a case.

According to hromadske sources, Manolis Pilavov was liquidated by the Security Service of Ukraine.

“I didn’t survive the final ‘sanctions’ from the SBU,” the publication’s source said.

Manolis Pilavov headed the occupation administration of Luhansk from December 2014 to November 2023.

In 2015, the Security Service of Ukraine declared Pilavov wanted under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violent change of the constitutional order, encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and creation of a terrorist organization).

Today, propaganda media reported an explosion in Lugansk near the local history museum, where the occupiers had set up an exhibition dedicated to the war against Ukraine.
