In New York, the intersection in Brighton Beach was officially renamed the “Ukrainian Way”

Today, Ukrainians courageously resist the aggression of an enemy who wants to deprive us of our freedom. And they do it not only in Ukraine, but all over the world.

Thus, one of the intersections was renamed in Brighton Beach (USA) for the Independence Day of Ukraine. Now it is called the “Ukrainian Way”.

A symbolic step

Over half a year of a full-scale war, we have seen that our strength lies in unity. Each small step is an extremely important contribution to a big victory.

As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova noted, the official renaming of the intersection was completed on the Independence Day of Ukraine. August 24 has always been of great importance for every citizen, but this year it is especially symbolic. This day is about our courage, struggle and love, which last for about a thousand years.

  • On Independence Day, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Ukrainians with the words “free people of independent Ukraine.” He noted that according to these four words today – on the 182nd day of a full-scale war – there are so many meanings, symbols, deeds and losses, joy and pain, and most importantly – the truth. This truth is about real Ukrainian, it is impossible to argue with it.
  • Independence Day of Ukraine is the result of a thousand years of struggle. The poignant congratulations were recorded by the Ukrainian military, security forces, law enforcement officers, politicians and activists.
  • On this day, Ukrainian stars greet Ukraine. On the 31st Independence Day of Ukraine, singers Sergey Babkin, Zlata Ognevich, Max Barskikh and TAYANNA delighted fans with new patriotic compositions.
  • World leaders also expressed their greetings to our state and people. Among them are Boris Johnson, Andrzej Duda, Ursula von der Leyen, Jens Stoltenberg, Melinda Simons, Joseph Borrell and others.
  • A true friend of the Ukrainian people, Boris Johnson, arrived in Kyiv on August 24. The British leader announced a new aid package – more than 50 million pounds.
  • On the Independence Day of the United States, the United States also made a valuable gift to Ukraine. The country allocated $3 billion worth of weapons.
  • Of course, the Russians did not forget to congratulate us either. On the holiday, Ukrainians had to repeatedly descend into cover and escape from rocket attacks.
