< p _ngcontent-sc100="" class="news-annotation">On a beach in Noumea, New Caledonia, a shark attacked an Australian tourist. She killed a man right in front of the vacationers.
The tragedy occurred on February 19th. Unfortunately, a 59-year-old man died on the spot from his injuries.
A shark bit off a tourist’s limbs in front of people
As it became known, The 59-year-old Australian swam about 150 meters from the shore. At that moment, a shark swam up to him and bit off both his arms and his leg.
After that, vacationers rushed to the rescue and got the tourist. However, the man died at the scene of the tragedy.
Eyewitnesses said they were shocked by what they saw.
There were small children who were shocked by what they saw, – said the President of the Southern province of New Caledonia, Sonia Bekes.
It is noted that such a case has already been recorded for the third time near the Château Royale beach in the last three weeks.
Because of the tragedy, the beaches in this area was closed, and the authorities staged a trapping of sharks.
“Swimming and maritime activities are prohibited in the 300-meter coastal strip for further communication,” Noumea City Council noted.
