In Mexico, thousands of migrants marched to the US border on Christmas. They are all protesting against the strengthening of rules for issuing transit permits in Mexico.

Representatives from 24 countries are taking part in the march. It was called “The Way Out of Poverty.”

Thousands of migrants in transit on a long journey to the United States are moving towards the US border. Local media report that about 8 thousand people are taking part in the march. Among them are representatives of African and Asian countries.

The protesters started from the city of Tapachula (Mexico). Among them there are very young children.

The reason for the march was that the Mexican authorities want to strengthen immigration legislation. In particular, migrants claim that they are no longer given permits to transit through the country. At the same time, the details have not yet been revealed.

More than 60 migrants drowned off the coast of Libya
