On Tuesday, July 12, ammunition detonated at one of the military bases seized by the Russian invaders near Melitopol. They exploded for several hours.
This was told during the telethon by the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov. He noted that the occupiers moved to this base recently, because their main one the other day was effectively destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, channel 24 reports.
There were about 20-25 explosions
The most military base is located 5 kilometers from Melitopol, on the border of the Mirnoye OTC. There, the mayor of the city emphasized, there are two military units: one is the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the second is the one that was used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine until February 24.After the destruction of the military base at the airfield, part of the equipment and ammunition of the enemy moved to the village of Mirnoye. Yesterday at about 14:00 there were heard about 20 – 25 explosions. After that, thick black smoke went out and the detonation continued for 4-5 hours, Fedorov added.
As for these explosions, Fedorov noted that one should wait for official data from the General Staff. The department will report who exactly managed to effectively deliver fresh “cotton” to the occupiers.
At the same time, he noted that the night in Melitopol was also not calm. All over the city automatic bursts were heard. Eyewitnesses themselves say that in this way the invaders – as they themselves convince – are trying to shoot down drones.
In the Defense Headquarters of the Zaporozhye Territory, information about automatic shots was confirmed. They noted that the comments indicate that the night was restless both in Melitopol itself and in Berdyansk.
According to one of the versions, Russian fighters could sort out alcoholic drinksand set up a shootout. Another concerns precisely attempts to shoot down drones. It is possible that at night the townspeople heard the partisans who went out to hunt the invaders. There is no final information on this yet.
