Residents of Lviv are encouraged to participate in farewell ceremonies/Collage of Channel 24
In Lviv on June 7, the tradition of the city ceremony of farewell to the fallen defenders of Ukraine was initiated.
People came to Rynok Square to honor the memory of the hero who gave his life for Ukraine. From now on, Lviv residents are called upon to go outside during the movement of funeral processions to honor the dead soldiers.
In Lvov, the beginning of the city ceremony of farewell to the heroes who died in the war was started. Lviv residents came to Rynok Square, along which the funeral procession was heading to honor the memory of the hero who gave the most valuable thing for Ukraine – his life, the message says.
In addition, during the funeral, people are asked to refrain from holding:
- entertainment events;
- celebrations.
On June 7, Lvov said goodbye to Anton Velichko. The hero died in the Donetsk region near Avdiivka. Until his last breath, he defended his native land from the Russian invaders.

210 bodies of the defenders of Mariupol were returned
On June 7, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense announced that they had already managed to return 210 bodies of the defenders of Mariupol. Most of them are the heroes of Azovstal.
Currently, the process of returning the bodies of the dead heroes who defended Mariupol from Russian invaders continues. This is due to the work of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to return the body of every hero who gave his life for Ukraine.
“To date, 210 of our soldiers have been returned. Most of them are the heroes who defended Azovstal. All the dead should return to territory controlled by Ukraine,” the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
Zelensky on losses
- In an interview with foreign media, President Zelensky said that 60-100 Ukrainian defenders die every day. In addition, hundreds of heroes are injured.
- The total losses of Ukraine are not declassified while the war is going on. At the same time, back in April, the president said that between 2,500 and 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
