Lithuania supports the decisions of countries prohibiting the entry of Russians. But the state believes that this should be done at the EU level.

Recently, Estonia banned Russians who received Schengen visas from entering the country. Lithuania did on the basis of this, stated that such solutions would work more effectively if the entire EU did the same.

The decision to restrict the rights of Russians has already been taken by Estonia and Latvia. According to the initial assessment of those responsible, they are very similar to the restrictions currently in force in Lithuania.

Lithuania has consistently advocated sanctions against aggressive states and takes the position that restrictions work more effectively if they are applied at the EU level, says the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

It is known that after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Lithuania was one of the first EU countries to restrict the issuance of new Schengen and national visas to Russian citizens.

Lithuania will raise funds for Ukraine on Independence Day

On Independence Day, Lithuanians are raising money for new weapons for the Ukrainian military. People from other countries – Latvia, Estonia, Poland, etc. will also be encouraged to join the initiative.
