Kyiv said goodbye to the journalist and Ukrainian soldier Alexander Makhov on May 9. The life of the defender was cut short by enemy shelling at the front on May 4.

36-year-old Alexander was spent on his last journey in the Mikhailovsky Golden-domed Cathedral in Kyiv. The fallen soldier was buried at the Berkovets cemetery.

How Alexander Makhov died

A few days before his death, Alexander was hit by a shrapnel. However, the warrior noted that he would remain in the ranks and would continue to fight. Already on May 4, it was reported that Makhov was gone. According to President Zelensky, the journalist died in the Kharkiv region, in the battles near Izyum.
