On Friday, October 21, there was a shooting on Academician Glushkov Street in the capital. A soldier of the “Freedom” battalion was killed, the police managed to detain the suspects.
It became known that after the incident was reported, the security forces arrived at the scene of the shooting and found the body of a man. As Svoboda lieutenant Andrei Ilyenko reports, the deceased is serviceman Aleksey Shcherbina.
The suspects tried to escape in a Lexus
The police notes that after interviewing eyewitnesses, they went to look for possible intruders. The Lexus driver with two male passengers tried to escape, but failed.
According to preliminary information, a road conflict occurred between the men and the serviceman who was in the Hyundai car. First, the suspects beat Shcherbina, then one of them took out a pistol and shot at a volunteer.
What is known about the deceased
Alexei Shcherbina was 34 years old, he had a wife and a small child. The man died due to his injuries and wounds at the scene of the incident. According to a brother of the deceased, he was a volunteer of the DFTG “Freedom” and was preparing documents for mobilization in the army. in a three-on-one format, started a fight, and then took out their weapons and started shooting to kill. The serviceman also addressed those responsible for Shcherbina's death. He is convinced that they will read his Facebook post, so he warned them against trying to avoid responsibility. He stressed that those involved in the tragedy should go to jail for a long time.
If there are attempts to cover them up, we will deal with them. There will already be no official procedures. They better sit down now. Prison is the safest place for them right now. Shooting in Chernivtsi in early October
