For the duration of martial law, which was extended until November 21, discounts on utility bills were introduced in Kyiv. Moreover, someone can not only save money, but also not pay at all. Let's tell who it concerns.

Who can save on a communal apartment

Andriy Vitrenko, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, noted that our state has been living under martial law for more than six months. In this regard, he noted the importance of establishing additional social guarantees for citizens. He also added that it is necessary to reduce the financial burden both for certain categories of the population and for business entities.

Due to the aggressive offensive actions of the Russian Federation and the intensification of missile strikes in Ukraine, thousands of people were affected by the war, their homes and property were damaged or destroyed. And the socially unprotected categories of the population found themselves in a difficult financial situation,” he stressed.

Vitrenko also noted that many institutions and organizations were placed on their own territory:

  • forcedly displaced persons,
  • regular units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
  • National Guard,
  • TrO.

In addition, they supplied the above categories with food.

How much you can save on a communal apartment

The decision taken in the Kiev City Council provides for either a complete or partial abolition of the communal charge. We are talking about payment for maintenance of the local area, garbage collection, supply and drainage of water. In more detail, the discounts will be as follows:

  • 100% for victims of the Russian- Ukrainian war;
  • 50% for institutions and organizations hosting IDPs, personnel of the Troops, Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard on their residential premises;
  • 50% for institutions and organizations working in the field of public food and feeding on a volunteer basis for vulnerable populations, personnel of the Troop, Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard.
  • 30% on all utility bills for socially vulnerable segments of the population of Kyiv.

If you have accumulated debts for utilities, then during martial law they have no right to collect. But as soon as its action ends, then it will be necessary to pay them off as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may expect the arrest of accounts, the recovery of funds through the courts, as well as getting into the register of debtors.
