On March 4, weather forecasters announced a storm warning in the capital and most regions. The reason for this was the threat of strong gusts of wind.
Wind gusts during the day will reach 15 – 20 meters per second. Therefore, a yellow level of danger has been declared.

Ukrgidromettsentr announced I, that is, the yellow level of danger in:
- Kyiv and Kyiv region;
- Chernihiv region;
- Sumy region;
- Poltava region;
- Kharkov region;
- Dnipropetrovsk region;
- Kirovograd region;
- Cherkasy region;
- Zhytomyr region;
- Vinnitsa region;
- Khmelnitsky region;
- Chernivtsi region;
- Rivne region;
- Volyn region;
- Lviv region;
- Ternopil region;
- Ivano-Frankivsk region;
- Transcarpathian region.
The Ukrhydrometcenter notes that such weather conditions can complicate the work of energy, utilities and disrupt traffic on certain sections of roads and streets.

Basic safety rules during strong winds
With strong gusts of wind, you need to follow the basic safety rules that will help save life and health. In particular:
- tightly close all the windows of the house and remove objects from the balconies that may fall out into the street;
- outdoors, stay away from trees, buildings, billboards, and power lines;
- if the gusts of wind increase, you should take cover in the nearest room or natural shelter;
- avoid possible stay near large trees, especially poplars, as well as parking vehicles next to them – branches torn off by the wind can be a great danger;
- being in the room, it is necessary to de-energize it and turn off the gas, remove loose objects from window sills and balconies;
- when falling trees or branches, injuring people, etc. immediately inform the emergency services by calling 101 or 103.
