In Kiev, cyber specialists from the Security Service together with the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a detective agency that was trading information from closed databases of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and illegally spying on citizens.
As investigators found out, the organizer of the illegal activity was an ex-official of the disbanded police.
In 2009, he left the service and founded his own agency providing detective services. Under the guise of a legal business, the defendant carried out orders from his clients to collect confidential information on residents of different regions of Ukraine.

Among such information were residential addresses, car and mobile phone numbers of citizens, as well as information about crossing the state border.< /p>
– The average cost of one dossier was $200. The amount depended on the amount of information collected. To obtain personal data, the detective recruited his friend — a current official of the National Police who had access to the information databases of the law enforcement agency, the SBU said.
Also, the owner of the detective agency accepted orders for secret surveillance of people. I received payment for the services on the bank card of my close relative.

Now the detective has been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized sale or distribution of information with limited access, which is stored in electronic computers (computers), automated systems, computer networks or on media of such information).
His accomplice, a police official, was suspended from service. He is suspected under Part 3 of Art. 362 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized actions with information that is processed in electronic computers (computers), automated systems, computer networks or stored on media of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it).
The investigation is ongoing. to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrators face up to six years in prison.
