The shooting at police cars in Oleshin near Khmelnytsky occurred at about 1 a.m. on September 14.

As reported by the National Police of Ukraine, the emergency occurred when the patrol police response team stopped the car of one of the local residents to find out the reasons for driving during the curfew.
Eventually it became known that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol – according to the results of the dragger device, the man had 1.27‰ of alcohol in his body.
After the law enforcement officers drew up a report on the driver, the latter left his friend in the car and went home, allegedly to “sort out the issue with the vehicle”.
The man returned with a Kalashnikov assault rifle and opened fire towards the law enforcement officers and service vehicles police.
In total, the attacker fired 60 rounds from a machine gun, wounding a police officer and a civilian.
Law enforcement officers opened fire in response and called for help.
The man was detained thanks to a special operation by the Corps of Operational and Surprise Action.
