The price of minibuses has increased in Ivano-Frankivsk/Channel 24
In Ivano-Frankivsk the price of taxi fares has increased. Starting from June 16, the cost of travel in yellow minibuses of private carriers will be 10 hryvnia.
Preferential categories that had the right to travel free of charge remain. The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, announced such changes on his Facebook page.
He stressed that the fare in public transport remains unchanged:
- 10 hryvnias in cash;
- 8 – when paying with a bank card;
- 6 – when using the “Galka” card.
Why the price of transport has increased
As the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk explained, such an increase in price is due to an increase in the cost of fuel. He recalled that before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the price of diesel fuel was 30 hryvnia, and now it is 58.
At the same time, as Ruslan Martsinkiv noted, the cost of gasoline also increased from 32 hryvnia to about 52. In addition, as of June 8, fuel is regularly in short supply.
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk stressed that 2 routes of private carriers have already stopped running in the city. He confirmed that the priority for Ivano-Frankivsk is public transport. However, Russia's war against Ukraine has stopped the pace, and not all directions are closed by public transport yet.
Therefore, in order not to leave some areas without any communication at all, a difficult decision was made. We were looking for a compromise,” the mayor concluded.
Starting from June 16, the cost of travel in yellow minibuses of private carriers in Ivano-Frankivsk will be 10 hryvnia.
Recall that on the eve of public transport fares increased in Lviv. Since June 2, the fare in a Lviv fixed-route taxi has been 15 hryvnias.
However, before that, for the second year in a year, prices for transportation in suburban minibuses in the Lviv region also increased. The first price increase occurred in February 2022. And in May 2022, carriers were again forced to raise the price due to a significant increase in the cost of fuel and its unavailability.
